Travelling to Miami almost complete!

We are in FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello all supporters, family and friends! We have made it to Florida and are sitting for a minute in Jacksonville to fill you guys in on the wonderful journey we have had so far.  

Excitement is definitely building rapidly as we come closer and closer to being with Abraham in Anse-a-Galets.

We will be spending the night with Pastor Stuart Bodin of Miami Lakes United Methodist Church tonight and tomorrow night with an opportunity to do a presentation of our trip on Sunday morning to their congregation.  Please pray for this. 

We were blessed last night with a little bit of rain and lightning which meant the opportunity for KC to learn how to trust in God through this nasty South Carolina storm.  He saw us through!

Monetarily speaking, our street performing experience was a bust in Washington DC however we did get extremely blessed by an older homeless man coming and giving us money for playing some music by one of his favorite artists.  This was an amazing "Widow's mite" experience and we have definitely felt God's blessing in the opportunity to connect with this gentleman through Music. 

Please continue to pray for traveling safety and for the community members of Anse-a-Galets, Haiti, Miami, Florida, and all of the others whose paths we've crossed on this journey so far.

MOUTH RECORDS Update 8/17/12

Today is Friday and KC and Joe are now in Washington DC on their way to Miami to catch the plane to Port Au Prince on Monday morning!

God has been so good on the trip so far and has provided great weather and fairly easy driving conditions and we’re very thankful for his provisions. We have gotten a chance to see His beauty in some new and unexplored areas for us and have had a great experience on our journey to Haiti.

We are praying for continued travel safety and for the conditions to be just as wonderful as they have been. We are very much looking forward to the continued blessings we have yet to receive along the way.

We are still short on our financial support goals and we need prayer for that in this time of travel as well. We are trusting God will provide everything that we need in order to have a successful impact on the community of Anse-a-galets, regardless of what the human inside of us is telling us that we still need.

We are preparing to go out and do some street performing with some guitars on the streets of DC in order to raise some more gas money. Personally, this plan fits right into our musical mission because we are in one week’s time able to connect to the musical culture of street musicians in two extremely different places and that is what MOUTH is all about.

We are learning that taking the long road trip as part of this mission works very well to our advantage because of our goals of uniting a large global community around musical diversity and this is a great opportunity to meet new people along the way and get the word out there for MOUTH Records.

Please pray for the following issues specifically:

• Travel Safety to Savannah, Georgia tonight and ultimately Miami, FL tomorrow.

• A successful day of “Busking” with our guitars to not only raise money but also be open to the opportunity of meeting musicians to share our trip with and spread the love of God to.

• The people of Anse-a-galets to have their hearts opened and to prepare them for our God’s wonderful blessings.

• The people of Miami Lakes United Methodist Church that they will be blessed beyond belief for hosting us and showing us love in the abundant ways that they have already.


We thank you so much for your continued prayer and support. It is wonderful to know that there are people home praying for our journey and it is amazing to feel the Love of God poured out on us while we get to do this work for Him!


The prayer of the righteous is definitely powerful and effective the way that James talks about and we feel that strongly on this trip as we have been right in his hands this entire time!

                                HEADING TO TORONTO

                  Hello everyone! Kaitlan and I (KC writing) just got back from doing a support raising event in Reese this weekend (see last post) and we are preparing to head out to Toronto on the 7th to meet up with Joe Shaw and do another support raising event and worship service at Miliken Wesleyan-Methodist church.

                 I am very excited to go because of the length of time I am forced to go without seeing Joe, but also because this will be a very large day for us and for MOUTH and one that we have extremely high faith that God will bless us and those who hear our story.

                There are definitely some strong goals that we have coming into next weekend and we are relying heavily on the prayer of our friends and family to support us in making these goals achievable on this trip.
 
                                 Here are some specific concerns we can use prayer for:

•  Safe travel (5 hour drive to Toronto and back)
•  Meeting our financial goals and checkpoints for the month of June
•  Preparation of music for Sunday’s worship event
•  Open hearts and minds to our words
•  Discernment for what God would have us say to the congregation

                 We are very excited for the opportunity to spread the word to a loving congregation and to see God work in our lives and in the lives of everyone listening.

This weekend, KC and I traveled to my home church in Reese, MI. We sang a song as a musical offering, and gave a presentation of our trip between services. It’s my prayer that God spoke to the people and opened the hearts that need to be opened. It’s an incredible blessing to get to travel to Haiti and be God’s hands. It’s an equal blessing to get to prayerfully and financially support those that are called. God’s work isn’t possible without a community of believers behind it. We’re planning on putting together a prayer team for the trip. This group of people will be well informed of progress and concerns, praises and prayer requests. They will have a detailed itinerary and specified things to pray for each day. I believe so much in the power of prayer and the protection it provides. The Bible paints a beautiful picture of the importance of prayer. Just one example:

Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:13-16


We had two women sign up for the prayer team, and I left the church feeling so much joy. I feel so much peace about the trip, and I know God will provide people to support us in prayer and finance. I’m so grateful for getting to go home and see my church family. God is so good.

   In addition to our efforts to help the Community of La Gonave, we will be blessing the Global Community by producing a Record of a talented local Haitian young adult named Abraham Jerome.

HAITI 2012

     We need YOU to join MOUTH Records as we head out to Haiti in August of 2012 for our first full length Recording Project.

     MOUTH Records is setting out to Anse-a-Galets, Haiti in August 2012 in order to provide assistance with local education, show Jesus to the local community, provide native language books for the Children with Starfysh, and Record our first Full-Length Global Community album staring Haitian musicians.

      We are sending a team of 4 individuals on a 10 day Mission to really connect with the local community and bond with them through the Lord’s gift of Music.

      There is no possible way for us to do this without the support from our Global Community (you).

Mouth’s Roots

The name and concept of MOUTH originated at a convention during my senior year of high school. At this stage of my life, I was beginning to feel called into full time ministry. At the same time, I was experiencing a growing desire to operate a record label. At the convention, we were listening to a sermon about the parts of the Body of Christ. The speaker asserted that he was the Mouth of God since he was allowing us to hear the sermon. However, he said that it wasn’t enough to just be the Mouth of God, because all of the other staff, volunteers, and leaders at the convention were vital to allowing the Mouth to be heard.

While hearing this sermon I began to relate it to my growing desire to operate a record label. I realized that just like the speaker was the Mouth of God at the convention, a record label is the Mouth of the music business world. The label is what gets the music (Word) out of the studio (brain) and into the consumer’s hands (congregation).

Attachment to the name

As time went on, and still to this day, I find many instances in which “Mouth Records” is a perfect fit for my life. My mouth got me into trouble growing up- from eating dog food as a baby, to accepting the gallon of milk dare, talking out of turn, and talking back to teachers. Eventually, I learned that, if I decided to tame my mouth, it could be a gift used to worship God, build community, and, of course, create music.
